The notification for IBPS SO 2020 will be tentatively out by November. The tentative dates for IBPS SO Prelims is predicted on 26th and 27th December 2020 and Mains may be held on 30th January 2021. The number of vacancies is estimated to be around 1163, similar to last year.
A total of 17 banks, namely- Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Syndicate Bank, UCO Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India are participating for the IBPS SO exam. Based on merit, candidates will be posted to one of these banks.
Why IBPS SO?
Only students with specific specialization can apply for desired posts. It can therefore be assumed that the competition maybe lesser as compared to other banking exams.
The number of transfers under this position are lesser as compared to Bank PO.
An SO deals with the internal banking process and therefore is free from customer dealings/ interaction.
IBPS SO Vacancy and Eligibility
The IBPS SO exam is conducted for various specialist posts therefore, the number of vacancies offered differs from post to post.
The candidates applying for IBPS SO should confirm to the eligibility criterias as set by the Board.
In terms of age, a candidate should be between the age of 20- 30 years, i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02nd November 1990 and not later than 1st November 2000.

Select ‘Click here for New Registration’
The registration form to create a user profile appears. Enter details like name, DOB, email ID, mobile number, etc. and click on ‘Register’.
On the screen, a Provisional Registration Number and Password appears.
Login using these credentials to complete the IBPS SO application process.
Enter personal details, academic qualification, work experience, center of preference, etc.
Upload scanned images of recent photographs, signature, thumb impression, etc. as requested.
Click on ‘Final Submit’.
